Any K–12 student who is a resident of Utah may apply for the Utah Fits All Scholarship. This includes students who currently:
- Attend a public school (district or charter)
- Attend a private school
- Are homeschooled
- Are eligible to enter kindergarten in the upcoming school year
- Your child’s current educational setting does not affect their eligibility to apply.
Yes. During the official application window, you may apply for the Utah Fits All Scholarship even if your child is enrolled in another educational option, including:
- A public school
- A private school
- Another publicly funded scholarship program
Application Portal Schedule
The scholarship application portal operates on the following annual schedule, as governed by law:
- March 1: Opens for existing scholarship students who are renewing and siblings
- April 1: Opens for new scholarship students
- May 1: Application portal closes for all students
- Applications are by lottery and not on a first-come, first serve basis.
Application Review Timeline
An eligible student must be provided with a decision regarding the eligible student’s application within 30 days of the application deadline
Acceptance deadline shall be prior to July 1
Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year:
A scholarship student is eligible for no more than:
- for a private school student, $8,000
- for a home-based student ages 5-11 as of September 1 of the scholarship year, $4,000
- for a home-based student ages 12-18 as of September 1 of the scholarship year, $6,000
Applicants must select either private or home-based student as part of the application process.
“Private school” means a full-time, tuition-bearing educational institution where the student receives the majority of the student’s academic instruction.
