I could easily write a book as long as War and Peace on the gratitude I have for the Utah Fits All program. However, I digress and will keep this as sufficient as possible.
The UFA scholarship came to fruition when we needed it most. A chosen avenue, I was recently unemployed, as my two young sons are at crucial, pivotal ages, where having a parent at home is really important for their emotional and mental development. My career had me traveling on a regular basis, being away for a good deal of time. Stepping away allowed me to lean into their needs. Moving to a one-income household was challenging.
Our son, Liam, was attached to his friends and really excelled in a smaller class environment provided by his private school. The UFA scholarship allowed him to continue at the school and not upend his stability and security at such a critical time. Liam definitely has a high level of energy, as well as an aptitude to excel. The administration and teachers are able to accommodate his unique needs so he can learn and develop. He is thriving in the hands-on environment. The homework is accelerated, to ensure he’s advanced, giving him a level of confidence and better prospects for opportunities in the future. His experiences at the school are not limited to the curriculum or introductions to advanced math and science, but also include experiences outside the school that are critical to developing life skills. Philanthropy and volunteering have been especially important for emotional development and have helped lay a foundation for the next steps in life.
My older son did not have the UFA opportunity. I wish he had been afforded that same gift.
I would love to reward the generous and considerate leaders for acknowledging the hardships some have felt. The scholarship provides a way to close learning gaps and ensure our next generation is successful in every way possible. Utah Fits All made this possible for our family. We’re so happy and appreciative to have been blessed with this gift. It has made a world of difference.
