Because of the Utah Fits All Scholarship, my two children have been so blessed. We have found a community of kids, parents, and teachers who share our values and are able to offer these important values to our children in their education. They both thrive in a smaller cohort, which is what we have at our private school. The teachers know all the students by name — not just those in their own classes. My children are truly part of a close-knit community. Every school has their own priorities, and for us to be able to CHOOSE the school that fits our children is invaluable. This choice has been especially great for our family—our kids get to go to school with their cousins. What a joy!
School choice has allowed my kids to be able to open up and try new things without feeling overwhelmed or intimidated. Sports, for example, has become so competitive within so many schools that if you are not on competitive teams outside of the school, your child might never have the opportunity to play. Both my children have been able to try many different activities such as sports, music, choir, art, archery, stem, etc., because their school is able to accommodate every child who wants to participate. My 11-year-old got to actually create a stop-motion video for a book report! Through smaller class sizes, my kids have been able to receive a great deal of personal attention from their teachers, which helps ensure they succeed in all academic subjects—even the ones they find challenging.
The school community is very involved, too. All the parents volunteer time and resources to make it a success. I’m able to be involved in every activity offered: school plays, field trips, field day, class parties, etc. There is so much parental involvement that goes into building up the students. Each parent is so dedicated to ensuring their kids succeed. And we have developed friendships with people who love my kids as much as I do. A rare blessing. We are able to support each other not just through school situations, but personal ones as well. This has all been possible because of the Utah Fits All Scholarship! Without it, we wouldn’t be able to be a part of this community that is quickly turning into a family.
My two children are 11 and 8. We had to transition from a different school this year, which could have been very difficult, but because of the Utah Fits All Scholarship, we were able to choose a school that fits our children’s needs, personalities, and family values. This scholarship is a game changer in education, and we couldn’t be happier! We love UFA!!!
