UFA Application Resources & Recommendations

Review our UFA Application Slideshow in our FAQ, Utah Fits All Scholarship application slideshow and resources for new applicants. This slideshow followed a new applicant parent who selected Tax Commission Income Verification and set up a TAP account.

Scholarship Application Slideshow

Follow these two very important recommendations in the slideshow:

  1. Select how you plan to use the scholarship from one of two options: Scholarship amounts will be determined based on your selection. There are currently six options presented. Only two are valid and in alignment with the law. It is highly likely that the new Program Manager will have to take steps to collect accurate information from each applicant; however, when completing the existing application we recommend the following:
    • Choose the one that represents the way you will use the scholarship next year
      • Private School
      • Full-Time Home School
        16
  2. Select Utah Tax Commission from the three options when presented with the screen, Income Verification Type
    • The law according to H.B. 455 requires all new applicants, including siblings, to have their income verified through the Utah Tax Commission. This currently requires a TAP account. We recommend all new applicants set up a TAP account
      • 2024 Income Taxes are required
      • The Tax Commission cannot verify your income without your permission granted through TAP
    • Those participating in DWS services will be identified during the application process and no further income verification will be required from them
    • For unique filing circumstances, we recommend contacting the Program Manager, ACE Scholarships, directly with your questions

Challenges Completing Your Application? Follow These 4 Tips

We’ve heard from parents experiencing challenges completing all the required steps in the application process—but don’t let that stop you! Your persistence can make all the difference.

  1. Apply using the TAP function to verify income through the Utah State Tax Commission as required by the law.
  2. If you receive an error message setting up TAP or encounter other application issues, contact ACE directly to request help and assistance with resolving the problems. Contact ACE Scholarships HERE. We recommend email.
    • If asked by ACE to upload your 2024 tax documents (1040) manually, comply with the request.
  3. Notify Cassie Hays at USBE of any application problems or barriers that remain unresolved.
    • Cassie Hays, M. Ed.
